I’ll Hear You.

Welcome! I’m Alyson Grine, Resident Superior Court Judge for Orange and Chatham Counties. I was incredibly honored when Governor Cooper appointed me to fill the seat that became open upon the retirement of Judge Carl Fox in January of 2021, and again when the voters elected me to serve a full term in November of 2022. To date, I have presided over criminal and civil trials in over one quarter of the state (26 counties).

I want people to know that I value their experience and will carefully weigh what they tell me in making decisions.

My goal is to increase public confidence in the courts by applying the law correctly, demonstrating respect for all parties, and refusing to allow improper considerations such as race or ethnicity to influence outcomes. When members of the community come into court to explain how a case has affected them, I say, “I’ll hear you,” because I want them to know that I value their experience and will carefully weigh what they tell me in making decisions.

Keep superior court Judge
